The other day I was browsing T.J. Maxx and came across some AMAZING table lamps. They were just what I've been looking for to put in the living room. I was so excited about them just based on appearances alone but then I saw that they were only $29.99 each!! Lamp shade included! Are you kidding me?!?! I snatched those bad boys right up and went to the check-out. I even skipped looking at the shoes!
Isn't she a beaut? I got them home and put them on the end tables in the living room. Instant disappointment...check it out.
They're too small for the space! I felt my heart break a little. I even left them up overnight to see if I felt better about it but it just never happened. I ended up taking them back to the store. I feel like I did get some good inspiration from the lamps though so maybe I'll hunt down some Goodwill finds and DIY my own mock-up. I really liked the ribbon detail around the shade and the black topper that holds the shade in place...ah, so pretty.
I'm also somewhat regretting returning the lamps because I think they probably would've looked perfect in our master bedroom. I'm always thinking of the good ideas a little too late. Whoopsie! Anyway...that's my sad lamp story. Anyone else been in a similar position? Trying so hard to make something you love work for you and it's cooperating?!
