Happy Labor Day!

Happy Labor Day! I hope that most of you are enjoying a 3-day weekend; there's nothing better than a free day off of work in my opinion. Most people consider Labor Day to be the end of summer so I thought I'd take the opportunity to share a summer wrap-up and show a few of the highlights of my summer.

Things started off with a really big celebration - Loren's graduation!! He got his Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (I told you he's a smarty pants!). It was an amazing weekend celebrating my honey's success.

Loren and I also took a trip to the Olympic National Park for our anniversary. It was really fun and a real treat to see how beautiful our state is. We also had a romantic dinner along the pier on our actual anniversary. What can I say!? Love was in the air! ;)

We also completed our second half-marathon. It was a doosy. Loren and I actually ran the entire race together which was different than last year and it was really cool to have my favorite friend along for the journey with me. Plus, Loren doesn't let me wuss out!

We celebrated the Fourth of July at Gasworks Park. It was cold, dreary, and there was duck poo all over the ground but the company and fireworks were fantastic! Seattle really knows how to put on a firework show. If you ever have the opportunity to be in town for the 4th I'd jump on it!

Loren and I both turned another year older in July. We share a birthday so celebrating is extra fun. I'm not big on sharing anything but if I'm going to share my birthday I'm glad it's with Loren. We had a tasty dinner and then went to the Gorge for a concert. It was lovely.

I am obsessed with waterfalls so we decided to hike Wallace Falls. It was a little bit challenging to be honest but I'm glad we did it. Plus it was gorgeous!

We were also fortunate enough to have the opportunity to go on an amazing boat ride! The boat was fast and beautiful. We traveled up to the San Juan Islands and back; it was a really neat experience.

I'd say that pretty much wraps up the highlights. We also celebrated a few friends birthdays, spent time with my sister when she came to visit, planned a really exciting vacation, and of course, worked on some house projects. I LOVE summer so our schedule is usually pretty packed. Usually I get a little depressed when I think of fall and winter approaching but I have a few pretty exciting things coming up to keep me happy! Enough about me though, what was your summer like? Did you tackle any big projects or maybe take a nice vacation? Let me know in the comment section.
