We're replacing the flooring, cabinets, counters, and back splash. The plan was to do the demo portion ourselves to help with the budget. A few weeks ago Loren removed all the cabinets and we started removing the tile. Thankfully a friend came and helped with that because he was way more successful at breaking up the tile than I was! We used a Bagster for all the debris and it was so easy. I'd highly recommend it if you're going to have a lot of construction materials that are heading to the dump. We were able to get all the tile up and then decided to have the flooring installation crew finish the demo of the subfloor.
It was a bear! They worked on the floor for days getting it ready for the flooring to get installed. The subfloor under the tile had been glued AND stapled over linoleum.

And here's a sneak peek of the flooring getting installed!
It's so exciting. All of the flooring is in now but the trim work isn't happening until next week because some piece needed was on backorder. We also have started installing a few cabinets in places where we can. Hopefully I'll be back with prettier photos and updates next week. And keep your fingers crossed that I can make a counter top decision within the next couple days. :) Hope you're having a good week!
Love,
K
